Rīgas satiksme is participating in World Public Transport Day and invites you to explore Riga
Today, 17 April, marks World Public Transport Day, organised by the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), and this year, Rīgas satiksme is participating for the first time.
We typically use public transport to get to work, school, or for other daily activities. However, it can also be a way to see the city in a different light and notice places we usually pass by.
That is why, in collaboration with students from the Riga Technical University (RTU) Faculty of Architecture, as well as the Faculty of Engineering of Regional Development and Urban Economics, we have developed several routes featuring points of interest to explore Ķīpsala, Jugla, Dārziņi, Sarkandaugava, and Pļavnieki.
Download the routes in PDF format:
- Ķīpsala (to the stop "Ķīpsala" take bus 13, 30, 37, 41, 53, 57 or trolleybus 5, 12, 25);
- Dārziņi (to the final stop "Dārziņi" take bus 15, 18, or 31);
- Pļavnieki (to the stop "Ulbrokas iela" take bus 6, 20, 31 or 33 or to the stop "Žīguru iela" – bus 52, or to the stop "Pļavnieku kapi" take bus 20, 48 or 52);
- Sarkandaugava (to the stop "Daudersalas pārvads" take bus 2, 11, 24 or 58 or to the stop "Daudersala" take tram 5 or 8);
- Jugla (to the stop "Murjāņu iela" take bus 28, 29, 33 or trolleybus 4, or to the stop "Dambjapurva iela" – bus 15, 21, 29, 33 or trolleybus 35).
When exploring Riga, choose the ticket option that best suits you: 90-minute ticket, 24-hour ticket, 3-day or 5-day ticket, as well as a one-month ticket. A one-month ticket costs EUR 30 and is valid for an unlimited number of trips. You must validate your ticket every time you board public transport!
Today, it is important to thank both our passengers who use trams, trolleybuses, and buses every day, as well as public transport drivers and many other employees who work daily to ensure that we reach our destinations.
Thank you for choosing public transport!
Riga’s public transport connects the city and its residents every day. In 2025, it carried 118.5 million passengers who travel daily on:
- 7 tram routes;
- 22 trolleybus routes;
- 50 bus routes.
